We are now in Los Angeles!

February 11th, 2009 by admin

We just made an expansion to the west coast with a new office in the city of Los Angeles. This move puts us in the heart of California car culture. Many activities and special events related to the car scene take place in the local Los Angeles area. Our company’s clients all take a large focus in Los Angeles and now we are here 24/7 to help assist their needs in this specific market.  Our company will be more than twice as strong now with offices and employee’s on both coasts of the United States.

Our California mailing address:
8033 Sunset Blvd. Suite 987
Hollywood, CA 90046

Atlanta to Los Angeles with UrbanRacer riding shotgun

December 2nd, 2008 by admin

By: Joey Redmond

Well I had been trying to hold off on making any announcements on the blog here until UrbanRacer got our story up and we figured out everything that was going on. In what is one of the most unplanned/unorganized cross country moves ever I am pretty much going to pack the Infiniti G37 and bring only what I can fit in it (nothing) for my initial trip to California. This is part of a phase to migrate PM Lifestyle x Wrecked Magazine out to the west coast but all that will be a slow boring process that we should spare details on.

Bob over at UrbanRacer.com was awesome enough to walk around with me at the LA Auto Show and I pitched him the idea to cover my cross country travels and document the whole experiment and he went for it. The story up right now is a starter to post showing where I will be traveling and my car preparation. I leave in about 48 hours and will be pumping stories out to UrbanRacer every night once we find a Starbucks (no hotels, living in the Infiniti) for three days.

Make sure you read the introduction story and keep your eyes peeled to the UrbanRacer website for all of our updates as I trek across America.

Girlinyourshirt.com - Internet Promotion at it’s best

November 18th, 2008 by admin

An interesting marketing concept I came across today. This girl basically wants you to send your company logo shirt and $75 and she will take to promoting your company on viddler, youtube, twitter, etc… This is quite an interesting way to communicate your brand message in a unique and viral way. How can you go wrong for $75 as well?

This 966 that will be in the SEMA booth is gorgeous, I cannot get enough of this green color. Great selection they made for the booth.

Privacy on Flickr around the World

October 29th, 2008 by admin

This is a graph Elizabeth Churchill (Principal Research Scientist at Yahoo) presented today and was snapped on TechCrunch. Green icons are users that have their photos open and red represent people who have their accounts set to private. This cluster your looking at is a sample cluster of 1,000,000 unique users on Flickr from back in 2005 and their settings on photos. It appears the United States is extremely open with the exception of the Utah area and Hawaii. Europe and India are very private while South America is a very open place. An interesting way to look at the world and Internet privacy.

Youtube allows Deep Linking now on videos

October 26th, 2008 by admin

While this isn’t huge news for online video (Google Video has had the option for over two years) it gets us excited that this option is available now in Youtube. To specify a point, append a tag to the end of your video link with the following syntax: “#t=4m15s” (you can change the numbers before the ‘m’ and ’s’ to edit the minutes and seconds, respectively. For example, a video we made for our client NOS Energy Drink is the X-Games 14 flip of the Evolution 9.

The video includes some additional clips that some people might not be interested in or have a focus on. Let’s say if someone was writing a story on the X-Games 14 and they wanted to just reference the actual flip to compliment the story, they could use our full length Youtube video but just send people to the rally flip. Here is a link

Link to the X-Games Full Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8yGXFrAcF4

Link to the X-Games Flip Directly:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8yGXFrAcF4#t=19s

They don’t seem to have a simple way to link into a point of the video other than manually adding the “#t=2m49s” to the end of a video URL. Perhaps Youtube is going to phase this feature into it’s products as they have not even mentioned this new feature on the Youtube Official Blog yet. Make sure to enjoy this great Youtube video while linking to particular videos across the Youtube network.

No Formula 1 in Canada for 2009!

October 8th, 2008 by admin

Well after going back and forth with rumors about F1 in the United States, the Formula 1 group has come out and said no more Canadian F1 in Montreal which has become a popular staple of the tour. This means no F1 race in North America at all which comes as a shock and a great loss to North American F1 fans everywhere. This move was done in an effort to cut costs but seems very harmful to many global companies involved that have a large market share they either reach now or wish to reach in North America like Mobil 1, Bridgestone, and all the car manufacturers.

SMX Day 1 - What’s new with Video Search Marketing?

October 7th, 2008 by admin

-Search Marketing for Newspapers and Magazines

Moderator:
Danny Sullivan: Search Engine Land (Editor-in-Chief)

Speakers:
Michael Benedek: AlmondNet (VP)
Gregory Markel: Infuse Creative (President)
Eric Papczun: Performics (Director of Natural Search Optimization)
Tom Wilde: EveryZing (CEO)

Video search marketing is a hot topic these days. Everyone is getting on the video Internet bandwagon or needs to be. I mean NBC even has videos on the Internet these days available for you to stream on a shared video site called Hulu. Your SMX packet has the Performics and EveryZing slides. Performics really caught my eye while talking about Google’s GAUDI (Google Audio Indexing) which right now is being used on youtube for politics. You can search Google Audio Indexing and find some videos they are working on in the political field. This seems great for NPR to post some boring videos that can be audio tagged but it seems as we are a long way from our “hip” videos with music and loud noise picking up words that Google’s Audio Indexing can pick up or understand. We learned about some great new marketing campaigns that plan to go public very soon at Youtube that function basically as a “Adwords” but for internal promotion to Youtube videos and channels that you can buy traffic for. Basically like a recommended videos for keywords and channels. I could keep going forever from this conference but I won’t because Tim Armstrong from Google is about to hop on the podium and speak but everyone in this section did a great job. The one negative I really saw out of this was everyone kept calling “Youtube” a wild west but refused to acknowledge worthy alternatives video sites or recommend people persue niche video websites for their market (such as the automotive network as www.streetfire.net which we love).

Unable to make the Search Marketing Expo East 2008?

October 6th, 2008 by admin

Well day one has wrapped up and I have been having a blast at SMX 2008. Not everyone is able to make the trek out to New York City so here are two quick ways you can keep up with the conference over the next two days. First off, you have the twitter search which is updated by members at the convention constantly. You just enter #smx into Twitter’s search and you can stay updated on what is going on. Also, SMX asked everyone to tag photos on Flickr with SMX, SMXEast08, and SMXeast so you can sift through exciting photos of the show through Yahoo powered Flickr as well! Hope that helps you stay in tune with everything going on at SMX East 2008, we are going to blog about Day one right now.

US Video Online Video Advertising Predicted to go up up up!

October 3rd, 2008 by admin

One of our favorite social blogs www.mashable.com is that online video spending is going to grow and peak around 2012 in growth. If your company isn’t involved with online video already then you should consider getting into the market. You can find tons of agencies (we would prefer us) where you can take your company into a viral domain before the masses.

As opposed to just slapping some advertising in pre roll/post roll/on video google ads we suggest trying to match your brand with an agency or company that can produce some videos for you on a budget that are not blatant but relevant to your market. Stick in some branding to these videos and spend your advertising dollars to promote the videos across the Internet. We have done this with some clients and found great success for them. It is definitly something to consider as you can see all the major corporations are going to lean slowly towards online video advertising in the near future.
